Super hydrophobic of plastic degraded by UV rays

Contact us

FRP (fiber reinforced plastic) is a light and strong material used in antennas and other products.
While it is new, it repels water to some extent as shown in the photo below.
However, after being left outdoors for a year, the material deteriorates due to UV rays, and not only does the degree of repelling water decrease, but it also absorbs water.
This kind of material deterioration occurs not only in FRP but also in various materials such as paint film, and the longer the outdoor installation period, the easier it is for a water film to form.

That's why we use the Super hydrophobic material HIREC!

By applying the super water-repellent material HIREC, Super hydrophobic repellent performance can be maintained for a long period of time.

Brand new FRP (fiber reinforced plastic) Water repellent is unprocessed
New FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) is relatively water repellent, and it is difficult for a water film to form on the surface.

FRP after one year of outdoor exposure. Water repellent is unprocessed

The surface of the material deteriorates due to ultraviolet rays, etc., and water is absorbed, making it easy to form a water film.

When HIREC is painted on deteriorated FRP...
HIREC's water-repellent function does not form a water film on the surface.

Even materials that have deteriorated and theirwater repellency has decreased can be made water repellent by applying HIREC.
